DEREK RUST

This video is about ABC news when they do an experiment with a store clerk not serving a Muslim because of there religion and saying discriminating words. The purpose was to see what other customers in the store would react.

1. The reason there is descrimination is because people steriotype Muslims wether they are United States citizens or not by the things they see in movies and on the news about suicide bombers and all Muslims want to kill westerners because they are infidels. What people dont know is that Islam is a peaceful religoin.

2.There isn't much that we can do that would be succesful because too much steriotyping has convinced people and it would be very hard to change peoples way of thinking.

  3. I agree with everything you say, people are people, they will believe what they want to be, even if they are prove wrong, people just hate to be wrong.

  4. I agree with all you guys too, the woman even said she was born and raised in America. Just because she looks different and wears different clothes, doesn't mean you shouldn't treat her like everyone else. I think that the discrimination against Muslims is so horrible these days, because if it was happening to Christians or Jews as much as it is happening to Muslims, we would be reacting the same way as them. The stereotype is just so out of hand, that it's just getting worse and worse. And like Amanda said, people always want to think that they are right, even when they know they are completely wrong.

  5. You said that there isn't much we can do to prevent discrimination of Musilms, but I disagree. Sure there is something we can do and we can make other people to change their attitude, but we can't expect it to happen for one day to another. We have to start teaching people more about Islam so they could understand, just how we began to understand thanks to this class.
